Visit to Sarawak - Guofuhee Develops High-Quality Development of Hydrogen Industry in Southeast Asia

Apr 12, 2025

On April 10, 2025, Mr. Wu Pinfang, Chairman of Guofuhee, led a delegation to Sarawak, Malaysia, for in-depth discussions with local government officials and industry representatives on high-quality development and deep cooperation in the hydrogen energy sector.

In Kuching, the capital of Sarawak, Mr. Wu met with senior government leaders, including Deputy State Secretary of the Sarawak Ministry of Economic Development, Datuk Muhammad Abdullah Bin Zaidel, and Permanent Secretary of the Sarawak Ministry of Energy and Environmental Sustainability, Abg Ahmad Abg Morni. During the talks, Mr. Wu expressed that Guofuhee aims to collaborate with local partners and renewable energy investment funds to establish a joint venture. Leveraging its advanced technology and equipment manufacturing capabilities, the company plans to invest in building a large-scale green hydrogen liquefaction plant with an initial capacity of 10 tons per day. This initiative will support green hydrogen industry development, commercial operations, and the transition to sustainable energy in Malaysia.

Sarawak government representatives welcomed the collaboration, emphasizing that green hydrogen is a key component of the future energy strategy in this region. Under Malaysian national plan, the country aims to achieve a 10GW renewable energy transformation target by 2030. The planned 10-ton-per-day liquefied hydrogen plant will serve as a demonstration project to promote hydrogen-powered transportation and high-value applications in East Malaysia. Both parties held practical discussions on policy support, resource integration, and project implementation, laying the groundwork for deeper cooperation.

This visit marks a significant step in the strategic expansion into Southeast Asia for Guofuhee, injecting new momentum into Sarawak’s green energy development. Moving forward, both sides will accelerate the joint venture’s implementation, aiming to establish a regional benchmark for the green hydrogen industry.
