Hydrogen Generation System
(HGS)

HGS system is comprised of Alkaline Water Electrolysis(AWE) electrolysers,Gas-Liquid Separators,
Purifcation Systems and Auxiliary Units. The capacity of a Single Stack system is up to 1000 NM3H (5MW).

Electrolysis Stack

The electrolysis stack operates at the pressure of 1.6 or 3.2 MPa. The alkaline electrolysis stack is featured by large hydrogen production volume, high hydrogen purity, long service life, reliable operation and low requirements for operation and maintenance.

Gas Separation System
GFGL-XXX/1.6
Hydrogen and oxygen flow out of the electrolyser through their respective convergence channels together with the lye and enter the gas separator. Due to gravity, the hydrogen (oxygen) and lye are settled and separated.The separated hydrogen (oxygen) comes out of the upper part of the separator and enters the hydrogen (oxygen) heat exchanger where it is cooled. Liquid droplets are removed from the top of the separator through the hydrogen washing separator. The hydrogen is then controlled by a hydrogen regulating valve and sent downstream.

Hydrogen Purification System

The hydrogen generated by water electrolysis contains oxygen impurity, and a small amount of saturated water. Oxygen and hydrogen react rapidly to generate water through catalyst reaction in a de-aerator and a molecular sieve in the dryer is used to absorb the water contained in hydrogen.The oxygen content after purification is less than or equal to 5 ppm and the purity of hydrogen reaches 99.999%.

This project is one of the first AWE system in Jiangsu province, the green hydrogen is used by industrial end user in chemical industry and has already been in operation for more than 1 year. The entire system including BOP is supplied by GF.
